Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of speaking at this years’ CIPD Student Conference at Aston University in Birmingham, where the theme was “develop yourself, develop your HR career”.
The day was incredibly inspiring and it was fantastic to see so many people from all different career backgrounds, getting excited about the future of their careers.
The day was full of fantastic speakers, Ian Turner from Specsavers gave an overview on his career but also why HR should focus upon culture, this was supported by a staggering figure that 68% of employees do not feel that their business is actively supporting a positive culture. This is an opportunity for HR to really add value where it really matters.

Forget resolutions, make 2018 the year to achieve your goals!
The mince pies have been eaten and the parties have wound down. This is the time of year that many people sit down and write a list of resolutions to achieve by this time next year, only to be left disheartened a few weeks later; but not this year.
This year, I have decided to tear up those resolutions and break that negative cycle by doing something meaningful. As a HR professional, continuous development is really important and a priority, so I have set myself a goal to complete my level 7 Diploma in HR Management including the two exams which are set for May and September.

I am incredibly excited about this blog post as I can now finally reveal that over the next year or so, I am going to be working in partnership with ICS Learn to complete my CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management.
After completing my CIPD Level 7 Certificate with ICS earlier this year; I was delighted to be approached by ICS to top up my qualification to a full Diploma by being a part of their ICS Real Stories.
