Your words have the power to inspire others to help them become something they never thought was possible.
Last week’s HR Acts of Kindness saw us use our words to pass on positive messages to those around us and I’ve received some lovely messages from all over the world telling me how this simple idea has really helped their own outlook at work or at home in challenging times. Thank you for all getting in touch and spreading your positivity!
For every positive, there’s always going to be the attraction of a negative opinion, that is if you actively seek them. By having a positive outlook, this will help someone succeed; this has certainly been the case for me recently, I’ve avoided doing my coursework for a long time until my husband said to me, it’s not going to do itself, yes you’re busy, but this matters to you so you need to rethink how you feel about it and get stuck into the books!
Brexit started a lot of things when it was announced over two years ago, and since then it has caused a lot of controversy and divided the nation. Irrespective of your political views on Brexit, one good thing that came out of it was that it inspired HR acts of kindness.
Never could have I anticipated how well received the project would be at a time when surrounded by uncertainty, shock and anger; and as we continue to face challenging times as a whole, may be this project gave some hope through the HR community. Therefore, I wanted to make it a much more permanent feature on my blog and support our profession with one small act of kindness at a time. Every Monday morning, there will be a new HR Act of Kindness challenge set for the week and as always, I’d love to hear your stories by sharing them right here on the blog.
Long time no speak, I’ve so much to share with you all soon, it has been the most hectic few weeks of my life and hopefully I am nearly at the end of the tunnel.
Ok so I thought I’d do a quick whistle stop blog on a subject I get asked all. the. time. “How did you start your blog?” “Can I write a HR blog” the simple answer is yes, you most certainly can!
I hope you all enjoyed some tech down time yesterday, sometimes it is worth switching off once in a while to appreciate what we work so hard for.

Task five – When you get home tonight, turn off the technology and have a conversation with your spouse/partner/loved one or have a conversation with a friend or relative, really listen to them
Taking some time out from technology to really listen to people is essential for our relationships and wellbeing.
