Apologies for the silence over the past few months, I have taken some much needed time to reflect on my priorities and took some time out for my mental health, I am feeling much better and I’d like to thank those who offered their support.
So without further ado, with a new year comes plenty of new opportunities and with it being a sparkly new decade, I fully intend to make the most of it!

I chose the Disney theme for this week’s video, not because it is all magical but because it took a lot of hard work, determination and commitment to make Disney the success that we see today, it all started with a dream and a CIPD level 7 qualification is no exception!

Cannot quite believe that I am writing this but with any significant milestone, I wanted to celebrate and thank you all for your support with my little HR blog.
Yesterday I had an incredible 700 visitors to my blog! If you were one of them, thank you so very much, I hope that you are enjoying my HR musings.
When I started the blog just under four years ago, never did I think I’d get even 100 people viewing my blog, but recently you may have noticed that I have a lot more content and that is only set to increase over the coming months. I have enjoyed writing this blog so much and with highlights like HR acts of kindness and the CIPD qualifications Q&A as well as being a finalist at the UK Blog Awards 2019, this blog has not only introduced me to many new connections, it has also presented me with so many incredible opportunities by reaching a worldwide audience.
So without being soppy, this is a post to thank you for your support and I look forward to writing many more posts for you to enjoy.

Following a number of direct messages and requests from fellow CIPD students, I will be doing a series of videos to answer your burning questions in relation to all things relating to those essential CIPD qualifications.
Today it has been announced that millions of the UK’s low-paid workers could become eligible for Statutory Sick Pay for the first time under new government proposals.
The Department for Work and Pensions announced that they would be consulting on new policies which it claims, could help businesses support and retain employees with disabilities and health conditions, it is proposed that this would be achieved by lowering the eligibility threshold for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
As with any changes to Government policies, this is met with both pros and cons, and today there has been plenty of debate following the announcement with multiple differing perspectives, including a rather interesting talking point on Radio Two!
