We all know that in the world of HR, things are moving at a rapid pace, and what are are seeing is a HR shift from traditional transactional to a strategic commercial partnership.

I get asked all the time about how HR can actually make a difference and breakaway from it’s administrative roots. I always say that nothing good gets done behind a screen, it the quality of the work relationships formed and the value add that HR can bring, that really makes a difference, and get’s people to sit up and listen. Coming out at work – reflections of Pride 2022

Coming out at work can be one of the most daunting experiences for an employee. There are no set rules around this. Who do they tell? It’s their private business after all. Although it is the individual’s very personal experience, they should not be made to feel that anyone they work with will think any differently towards them. They need to be assured that there is support from their colleagues and management. That said, there are a few important things employers can do to help.

Welcome to the ‘New Normal’ for Offices and Workplaces

It’s clear as the country begins to ease COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and life begins to take on some semblance of what it was before the pandemic began, whatever the ‘new normal’ looks like, it will be in place for quite some time. Dependent on a workplace’s operating situation throughout lockdown and after, of course, arrangements for employees will vary hugely. But there are some things all employers should bear in mind when re-absorbing furloughed staff and making their best efforts to resume business-as-usual – and here’s my top pieces of advice.
