Happy Saturday! How did you all get on with yesterday’s challenge? It was pretty thought-provoking for a Friday challenge but it is one that can make a really big difference.

Today is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, this can be a pretty stressful experience for many of us (I have to line shop as my husband gets really overwhelmed when the shops are busy) personally, I enjoy the experience of watching others carefully (and sometimes not so much!) pick out gifts for their loved ones.

“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”

At the recent CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition, I travelled home with two other members of the blog squad and I was shocked and saddened to see so many homeless people on the streets of Manchester. We came across a young homeless lady called Megan and she told us that she slept in the car park opposite where she was sat, her story brought me to tears and I’ve still to this day, not stopped thinking about her.

We offered to buy Megan a hot drink, food and anything else that she may have needed; but she politely declined our offers, with my husband being a former driver, he used to travel the country and stop for coffee at McDonalds, as a result he picked up the coffee stickers that are on the side and collected many of them over the past 12 months. It’s 13th November which means that it is World Kindness Day! This is one of my absolute favourite days of the year, it is so much better than the other random days such as national donut day (yes there’s actually a day for that!)

World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on 13th November. On this day, people from all over the world attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organisations. The day was was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement. The mission of the World Kindness Movement and World Kindness Day is to create a kinder world by inspiring individuals and nations towards greater kindness.
