I won’t pretend it hasn’t been a while since I sat down to write a proper update. The honest reason is that we have been genuinely flat out — and while that’s a good problem to have, it does mean the blog has taken a back seat. So here’s a proper catch-up on everything that has been happening at Rebox HR so far this year.
HR Unboxed: The Podcast Is Back and We Mean Business
One of the things I’m most proud of this year is the momentum we’ve built with HR Unboxed, our podcast that does exactly what it says on the tin — takes the box off HR and has honest, practical conversations about what’s really going on in the world of work.
We’ve recorded four episodes so far this year, and every single one has been worth your time.
Why HR Gets a Bad Reputation — But Why Businesses Actually Need It — recorded with Owen Griffin from Griffins Logistics, this one tackles the elephant in the room head on. If you’ve ever wondered why HR has an image problem and what good HR actually looks like in practice, this is the conversation for you.
HR and Health and Safety Go Together Like Tea and Biscuits — a topic that gets overlooked more often than it should. The connection between HR and health and safety isn’t optional — it’s fundamental — and this episode sets out exactly why.
Booked Off, Called In, or Pushing Their Luck? Managing Employee Leave Like a Pro — a subject close to the heart of every business owner who has ever stared at a rota wondering how they’re going to manage yet another absence. Practical, direct, and genuinely useful.
Budget 2025 Mayhem: HR Chaos, Payroll Panic and What’s Actually Changing — because when the Budget lands, business owners need to understand the real-world implications for their payroll and their people, not just the headlines. We cut through the noise.
All four episodes are available to watch on our YouTube home at Horizon Radio, and you can also listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. If you haven’t subscribed yet, now is a very good time.
The Breathe Partner Summit: London Calling
In March, Faye and I headed to London to speak at the Breathe Partner Summit, and I have to say — it was one of those days that reminds you why you do what you do.
We had the opportunity to share the unfiltered story of Rebox HR: how the business was built, the challenges we faced along the way (and there have been plenty), and what other businesses can take from our experience. There is something genuinely powerful about standing in front of a room full of people and telling the real story — not the polished version, but the honest one.
The energy in the room was extraordinary, and being surrounded by so many people who care about making work better was a reminder that we are part of something much bigger than our own day-to-day. We left London feeling energised and, quite frankly, overjoyed that we had been part of it.
A Brand New Website and a Whole New Chapter
We also relaunched the Rebox HR website this year, and I am not going to be modest about it — it looks brilliant. It performs well, it reflects who we are and what we stand for, and we are incredibly proud of it.
More importantly, it is working. We have welcomed a significant number of new clients this year and have been busy onboarding them, getting to know their businesses, and putting the right HR foundations in place. There is no greater validation of what we do than seeing businesses choose to trust us with their people.
What’s Next
There is plenty more in the pipeline — more podcast episodes, more conversations, more content aimed at helping business owners navigate what continues to be a genuinely challenging employment landscape.
If you are not already following along, you can find us on LinkedIn, catch the podcast on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, and find out more about working with us at www.reboxhr.co.uk.
And if you have been meaning to get in touch about HR support for your business — don’t keep putting it off. We’d love to hear from you.
