Following the success of my article in Be Kind magazine, I have decided to evolve HR acts of kindness by releasing a calendar each month on the blog.
It has been a lot of work (and thinking!) in the making but I am delighted to bring this to you all, thank you for being so patient with me. A lot of people have asked me why I’m launching it now and not in January, well as the seasons change, we are often negative towards those darker mornings, what seem like long days and miserable weather; we find ourselves not being particularly kind to ourselves, so this is what made me think that this is the perfect time to launch it.
For those of you who are new to HR acts of kindness, to give you a little introduction, it is an initiative that I created back in 2016 to bring people together after the Brexit result. Never before had I seen so many different reactions and responses from people and it caused so much divide. I quickly identified that making small kind gestures can bring people together and change our outlook on situations; a much more positive mindset. We waste so much time on negative energy, so this is a way to combat those negative vibes, we have one life, lets spend it wisely!
So, by taking time to think kindly and do kind actions, it not only lifts our mood but it creates a chain reaction, where it encourages others to carry out acts of kindness of their own. This calendar is the perfect tool to help you do one kind thing every day.
So here it is, my first HR acts of kindness calendar, I hope you love it as much as I do!
As this is a new concept to the blog, do let me know what you think about the calendar and if you have any suggestions, let me know.
Don’t forget to join in the HR acts of kindness community, follow on Twitter @natalieellishr #HRactsofkindness and over on Linked In using the same hashtag, why not see how everyone else is taking part?
Last but not least, I’d love to see your kindness in action, take a picture with your calendar to feature on the blog! Share this calendar far and wide, not only with your colleagues, fellow HR professionals and don’t forget your families and friends, let’s make November a kind month.
